Ooh, beach episode.

Good to see the girls keeping up in shape and putting on a show for the audience there. Episode had the similar humor with a bit of shopping. These girls really know how to enjoy life heh

Interesting episode. Kotetsu's idea of trying to use that as a means to overcome her fear of heights was some creative thinking. The girls impressions based on the words sure was amusing. The poor advisor though being used as a human vault box. Glad that their performance at the festival went well. Kohane's part time job sure was an interesting experience for her in the number of plates she broke. The teams visit to the cheer shop sure was a fun experience. Inner Kotetsu sure was scary. The twins though sure was curious in the way they represented the Arima of the past. Still their reveal of not just their skills but also that of Arima's former team sure made the upcoming tournament sound that much more exciting. Looking forward to seeing how they fare next ep.

One episode left q_q, I will miss Kohane and friends.

Looks like the last episode will be a great point to stop with Arima meeting her previous teammates, this one was fun with the beach section and the shopping part (poor store clerk doing her best to understand Arima's drawing).

Honestly, I feel like this is a really underrated anime. The first episode put me off in a few ways but it's just been uphill from then. Every week it just feels good to watch these girls. Very wholesome show. I'm sad that next week is the final.

It is quite ordinary. But Doga Kobo, as always, does an ideal job, raising any generic CGDCT show to the status of a well-executed middling.

God forbid a cute girls show without a beach episode.

One Piece episode 914 & 915 & 1027 were a mistake and 957 brought the salvation - FMmatron

im reading the manga and its a pretty fun series in and of itself even without the kobo adaptation. (disclaimer: i like cgdct type of series).

This does not contradict the fact that this is a fairly generic CGDCT work.

i never said it contradicted what you said.
truth be told, you could say the same thing for almost any new anime out there.
pretty much any new series reuses the character tropes and sometimes even jokes are recycled.
this is not really a negative. in my book, the thing that makes a series stand out is not how original it was, but rather if it can make people become invested in the characters and, in the case of cgdct, the comedy that comes from their mundane interactions with each other.
probably the most technically "generic" cgdct anime is Yuyushiki, yet despite being the most generic cgdct show plot-wise, it still shone through with the wimsical, nonsensical flow of conversation.
cheerleading as a theme is not really new, but there is something about the character dynamics that i cant help but smile when watching or reading it. the jokes are not groundbreaking by any stretch, but they work and come naturally.

cant wait for volume 4... which is expected to come sometime in May.

Its a bit of a letdown not seeing their performance during the festival. But its fine since we'll see their performance one last time.

Sadly, one episode left. I'm gonna miss this show.

Oh God, what an underrated show with yuri overtones and the occasional beach episode.

Kohane never fails to lift my spirits up with her comedic postures, and the Cheer Club's getting better and better. Definitely gonna miss these CGDCT girls although generic.

These girls really know how to enjoy life and interact with one another.

the manga being well executed and funny doesn't mean that it doesn't take a competent anime studio to translate it well into animated form.

just look at Grand Blue, it's one of the funniest manga I've ever read but the adaption was so bad that I dropped it at episode 2, all the jokes delivery just fell flat, I re-read the chapter that the anime adapted and still find it funny.

Nice performance at the beach. Kohane, Uki, and Kotetsu are becoming more skilled in performing.

Nekoya sisters are funny. So the final episode is Arima encountering her previous team mates... this would be interesting. Based on the conversations with the nekos, Hizume and Kana seem to be the more skilled members in their former cheer group.

NNOOOOOO!! just one more episode. :(
I hope this anime get another season like Gochiusa.

Love the beach ep, they did that shoulder straddle stunt well! Kohane still has some fear of heights though lol

And next ep Hizume will see her old teammates huh? Interesting.
Can't believe there's only one ep left, I'll definitely miss this show!

Uki surely had the time of her life during their training xD She's no longer hiding it, just confess already!!

Good episode, The time they spent at the cheer store was really funny. Kotetsu, as always, shined with her reactions.

So, next episode, Arima will see her old teammates again. I'm really looking forward to seeing a nice performance in terms of animation since it will be the last ep.

Quite ordinary in the larger scope, but it's execution of its clichés is pretty solid. The main point though is that despite the tropes and genericness, it still manages to be a lot more entertaining than it should be. Quite the opposite of what I've been getting out of most anime from this season.

Well, honestly, many Doga Koba shows are solid moe or yuri conveyor, even if they are relatively original shows like Uchi Maid. But it's all pretty exciting, I have to admit.

in regards to episode 11:
this time they chose a remix of Crazy Gonna Crazy as the insert song, which was the 3rd opening of Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live. i really wasnt expecting it, it was a nice surprise from Kobo. too bad they didn't have enough time to cover the part-time chapter - that would require an extra 5-8 minutes.

its perhaps worth noting that the Nekoya sisters never actually said "blessing" or "fortune" as the subs may suggest. the expression 災い転じって福となす", that is, "to turn a misfortune/disaster into fortune". they only said the first half ("to turn a misfortune / disaster"). although yes, the rest of the expression is implied, by leaving out the second half of the expression, it gives a stronger impression on the word "misfortune / disaster".

Nekoya sisters claimed that the team banded together to try and deal with losing their team mate and somehow turn their "misfortune (losing Arima) into fortune". Given that, according to the Nekoya sisters, the team level dropped catastrophically as a result of Arima leaving, it could be argued that the Nekoya sisters skipped the second half of the expression because they dont think they were actually able to turn their misfortune into fortune and the team wasnt able to really recover from their loss.

edit: in the manga, they only said the first half of the expression. after rewatching the scene, it seems that the Nekoya sisters did say the whole expression in the anime.

Kaminoki's performance was a bit awkward since the 4 girls except Kohane feels like they forgot their shorts and performing like wearing fancy undies! lolz!
All 5 girls looked gorgeous trying out different coloured uniforms!
LOL it's very rare to see Kotetsu getting pissed-off! and what's more..pissed-off to Konahe!
We get so see Hizume's former teammates! and its twins!
Everyone's preparing for the tournament and Hizume's former team is also participating! they gotta do their besto!
At the shop, they couldn't decide which color to pick but at the end, they ended-up with Navy Blue!
5/5.

;3 twins.. Well, I mean, they have ;3 faces.. I don't really know how I feel about them.. They don't seem evil.. And they told supporting Hizume thing in the end - that maybe others would be glad to see if Hizume is alright.. But these twins also could be in any way, I'd guess..
